BOLTON DJ Sara Cox will make a seamless transition from radio to television when she guest hosts a sewing show for Children in Need.

The 39-year-old, from Little Lever, will host the second of three episodes of The Great British Sewing Bee.

Sara will welcome dance expert Louie Spence, comedian Mark Watson, actress Pam Ferris and television presenter Gaby Roslin to the sewing machines.

The four celebrities will attempt to design a bespoke animal onesie in a bid to impress judges Patrick Grant and May Martin.

Sara said: “As a guest host I was the lucky one, I just got to march about the place without having to even pick-up a needle.

"I’ve always had a sewing box, because it’s one of those strange things that mothers just seem to have, but before the show it was sat at home covered in dust.

"Working on the show has made me think again though.”

Each hour-long episode of the show will be overseen by a celebrity guest host and will air on BBC Two, ahead of the Children in Need Appeal show on Friday November 14.

After the broadcasts, some items made by the contestants will be auctioned on BBC Children in Need’s eBay site.

The second episode of The Great British Sewing Bee, featuring Sara, will air on BBC2 at 8pm, on Thursday, October 23.
