Top 5 things to do in and around Bolton this weekend
1. Have a ghoulish makeover and then embark on a zombie walk around Bolton town centre. The Crystal Skull, St Andrew’s Court arcade, is offering people creepy makeovers in exchange for a donation to Wipe Your Tears children's charity, between 11am and noon on Saturday.
2. See one of the most celebrated and influential guitarists in the history of contemporary music. Johnny Marr, from The Smiths, will play the O2 Apollo, Manchester, on Saturday night.
3. Enjoy a nutty animated adventure at this month’s Family Film Club. The Nut Job, which sees mischievous squirrel Surly and his rat friend Buddy plan a nut store heist of outrageous proportions, is on at the Festival Hall, in the Albert Halls, at 2pm on Sunday.
4. Grab the little ones and go along to meet a puddle-jumping, little pig at a Bolton shopping centre. Cartoon favourite Peppa Pig will be at the Market Place between 11am and 4pm on Sunday, with her story time companion.
5. Wrap up warm and enjoy a bonfire and fireworks spectacular at a Bolton hotel complex. There will also be a fun fair, music, food stalls and children’s entertainment at the Mercure Bolton Last Drop Village Hotel and Spa, between 4pm and 9pm on Sunday.
