Man arrested after police car chase in Daubhill
POLICE have arrested a man after a car chase in Daubhill this morning.
Officers spotted the silver Astra Elegance speeding down St Helen’s Road at about 12.50 am.
Police pursued the car before it finally stopped with a burst tyre in Brandwood Street, Daubhill, at about 1.10am.
A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft and remains in police custody.
The car is believed to have been stolen from the Bolton area.
A police spokesman said: “A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and remains in police custody.”
Firefighters were called to the smoking vehicle.
There were no passengers in the car.
