THE owner of Bolton’s most haunted pub has launched an 'Exorcinema' which will screen paranormal videos from around the world.

Richard Greenwood owns Ye Olde Man and Scythe in Churchgate, which has become something of a phenomenon after several spooky sightings.

The pub shot to fame in the summer after a YouTube video of CCTV footage appearing to show a ghostly figure standing at the end of the bar in the middle of the night went viral.

The publicity led to a Japanese film crew descending on the historic pub to film ghosthunting activities — and two reporters from The Bolton News spent a night at the venue on the hunt for ghouls.

Mr Greenwood said that all the ghostly activity at the pub has increased his interest in paranormal activities and now he wants to see more evidence of them from around the world.

He has launched the new concept, known as an ‘Exorcinema’ which he said will broadcast spooky events.

He added: “This is a unique concept as I am offering to purchase recorded paranormal activities in the form of videos, photographs and sound clips and then exhibit them on the website and on YouTube and other online video players.

"The first ghost video at the pub caused such a mixed response from people the world over that I want to create a database of content that can equally push people's boundaries on what they believe to be real or not.”

The Exorcinema was launched at a party at the pub last night — Halloween.

The ghosthunting-fan added: “I am hoping that the success of these video clips will create enough attention for the concept and result in other people around the world offering up any recorded paranormal activity that they might have.”
