THE 12th Bolton (Rosehill) Beaver Scout Colony has celebrated its first anniversary by holding a camp.
Youngsters spent the weekend at Bibbys Farm Scout and Activity Centre trying out activities provided by group leaders.
Beaver Scouts are the youngest section in Scouting being aged between six and eight years old.
This was the first time in the Scout Groups history that they have had all three sections — beavers, cubs and scouts — away on a camp together.
Activities included archery, making and launching water powered rockets, cooking bread twists on a fire, an adventure playground, soap carving and leather work.
Beaver leader Clive Fenn said “The beavers were buzzing the whole weekend.
"They’ve been busy telling their parents about their adventures and asking when the next camp will be."
The colony meets at Rose Hill United Reformed Church, Westbourne Avenue, Great Lever on Friday evenings starting at 5.30pm until 6.45pm.
Anyone interested in finding out more should call Clive Fenn on 07949 200 926.
