Woman breaks ankle after crashing on M66
AN elderly driver broke her ankle on the M66 on Christmas Day after crashing into a stanchion.
The woman crashed her red Mitsubishi C12 at about 10.30pm, at Junction 19 of the M66.
She suffered ankle and back injuries and was cut from the roof of her car by firefighters from Whitefield and Blakeley before being taken to hospital.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
