TWO men were bottled and a woman was punched as they tried to get a taxi in Bradshawgate.

The attack happened near McCauley’s bar at about 6am after two men approached a group of revellers who were trying to get home after a night out.

An argument broke out before the two men punched a 19-year-old woman and hit a 26 and 23-year-old man with a glass bottle, knocking the first unconscious.

Police were called to the scene where the male victims were treated for cuts to the face.

A spokesman for GMP said: “Police were called to an incident in Bradshawgate near McCauley’s and Buffet King at about 6am on Saturday.

“A group of people were trying to get into a taxi following a night out and two men approached the group, hitting two men with a bottle and punching a woman.

“A 26-year-old male was knocked unconscious after being hit on the head with a bottle, and the 23-year-old was also hit. The woman received a punch to the face.

“As yet no one has been arrested and the male victims were treated for cuts to the face.”
