FAMOUS faces from Bolton took to Twitter to mark the end of 2014 and wish their followers a happy year ahead.

Sharples actress-turned-model Helen Flanagan, aged 24, who recently announced she is expecting her first child with footballer boyfriend Scott Sinclair, looked back on the year with delight.

The former Coronation Street actress told her 533,000 followers: "I have absolutely loved 2014! Feel very grateful for what the year has brought me."

This morning, she added: "Happy 2015! Feeling fresh, can't wait to be a mummy this year".

DJ Sara Cox, from Little Lever, was up and out early on New Year's Day, heading to the BBC Radio 2 studios for 5am.

The 40-year-old said: "Happy new year! Looking forward to spotting some revellers still revelling as I drive to work. Who's working, still up or just up?"

Presenter Paddy McGuinness shunned a night on the tiles on New Year's Eve to stay in with wife Christine and their 18-month-old twins Leo and Penelope.

The Take Me Out host, aged 41, said: "NYE is easy when you're wed. It used to be queuing at bars, new outfits, getting ripped off by a taxi. Now it's Indian, Chinese or Pizza!"

Proud father Amir Khan posted a cute snap of his daughter, who was born in May, playing with a pair of miniature boxing gloves.

The 28-year-old boxer, who recently beat Devon Alexander in spectacular style in Las Vegas, said: "My favourite moment this year was setting sight on my baby girl Lamaisah".

Coronation Street actress Catherine Tyldesley, aged 31, from Walkden, who is also expecting her first child this year, said: "Wishing you all a happy and healthy New Year. May all your dreams and wishes come true".

Former Canon Slade School pupil Lewi Morgan has enjoyed a stellar year with his Rixton bandmates, scoring a number one hit with debut single Me and My Broken Heart in July.

The boyband singer, who will tour the US with Ariana Grande later this year, said: "Happy New Years you beautiful lot! Thank you for everything you've done for us in 2014! Love you all!"

Glamour girl Rhian Sugden, who got engaged to actor boyfriend Oliver Mellor in November, took to Twitter to wish her followers happy new year from Australia despite feeling poorly.

She said: "Happy New Year everyone. I've started it off with a nice bout of gastroenteritis. Oh well. Out with the old in with the new".

Terry Walker, boss of Bolton scrapyard Metro Salvage — the focus of BBC documentary series Scrappers — said: "Happy new year to everyone that's made us smile. All the very best from the Walker family. The Scrappers".

Tom Parker, aged 26, from Tonge Moor, whose boyband The Wanted split at the beginning of 2014, said: "An absolute happy new year to every single person out there. Let this be your year".
