A WOMAN suffering from dementia has been rehomed after a fire broke out at her flat.
It is believed that the fire, in a flat in Lansdowne Road, off Tonge Moor Road, was caused by a cigarette.
The woman, aged in her mid 60s, was escorted out of the building by firefighters from Bolton North station, at about 3pm, and rehoused at a nursing home.
She did not need further medical treatment, but the fire caused smoke damage to the living room of the flat.
