RESIDENTS at a house in Halliwell returned to a fire that had broke out in a bedroom.
The blaze, which started after a heater was left too close to a mattress, was contained to the rear bedroom of the end terrace house, in Elgin Street, because the door was shut.
The fire was already out when crews from Bolton Central and Bolton North stations attended, at about 12.30am, but they carried out a home fire safety check.
