A CANNABIS farm found in a mill in Halliwell has been valued at £75,000 by police.

Officers were carrying out routine enquiries when they discovered the plants in Tennyson Street last Thursday.

The found 187 plants in a business unit inside the mill on January 22, as well as a timer system which activated lights, fans and water.

No one was arrested and police are working to establish who is responsible for setting up the factory.

PC Carl Boydell said: “This is a significant find and will cause major disruption for whoever is growing these plants. "We are continuing with our investigation and will find out who is responsible.

“I would ask anyone who may know where drugs are being sold or produced to contact police.

"We are determined to take on the dealers but in doing so, need the help of the local community.”
