A CANNABIS farm worth up to £10,000 has been sniffed out at a flat in Astley Bridge.
Police received a tip-off from a local resident that the Blackburn Road flat was housing a cannabis farm at about 9pm on Monday night.
They went round to investigate yesterday morning and found a cannabis farm with 20 plants, each with a street value of between £400 and £500.
Nobody was at the flat when police raided it so no arrests were made.
Police bagged up the plants to be removed, examined and destroyed.
They also confiscated some light-bulbs, which had been used in the growing process, from the flat.
Another cannabis farm was unearthed by police in Deane on January 28.
The farm, with a street value of £12,000, was found in Nunnery Road, where a 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of growing cannabis.
The man was taken into custody for questioning, and police removed 24 plants from the property, where the electricity supply had also been bypassed.
