A MAN recovering from medical treatment who has been missing since yesterday might have travelled to Bolton, police believe.

Police say they are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of Stephen Jones, who is missing from his home in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

The 47-year-old was last seen at about 9.30am on Thursday, February 5, when he left his home in Dimsdale View West.

Police have carried out extensive searches of his home area and inquiries have established he may be in Bolton.

Mr Jones is white, 6ft tall, with a slight build, bald head with facial stubble.

He was wearing a black North Face coat, a grey Bart hat, black trousers and brown boots.

He is recovering from medical treatment, is weak, has reduced mobility, and is using a silver 62 plate Ford Focus estate.

Insp Mark Barlow said: "This is very out of character for Stephen and we are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.

"We are continuing to work with colleagues from Greater Manchester Police making inquiries to locate Stephen.

"If you think you have seen him, or his car, please ring police straight away."

Anyone with information can contact police on 101, quoting Staffordshire Police incident number 624 of February 5.
