THREE Bolton businesswomen are jetting off on a charity mission to Cuba.

The trio are swapping computers for cycling and seminars for salsa dancing to take part in an exciting adventure to raise funds for a children's charity.

Planning consultant Linda Wright from PlanitWright, insurance expert Sharon Bailey from Primecover Insurance and solicitor Amy Price from Russell & Russell are joining a group of fundraisers from around the country on the trip organised by Children Today to travel to the Caribbean's largest island from June 6 to 14.

They will be taking part in a multi-activity trip which includes cycling, trekking, zip-lining, salsa dancing and even a classic car treasure hunt, competing in teams for the PFA Children Today Challenge Cup.

This is an annual event, supported this year by Farley's Solicitors, with teams led by former professional sporting legends. This year's include ex-Olympic and Commonwealth champion athlete Diane Modahl, ex-Liverpool goalkeeper Bob Bolder, former Arsenal player David Hillier and former Sunderland and Crystal Palace footballer Marco Gabbiadini.

The event has raised thousands of pounds in the past to buy specialised wheelchairs, trikes and other equipment for disabled children.

Ayden Djemal from Children Today commented: "This year's challenge event is our most exciting yet. Cuba is such a fantastic destination, and the variety of the challenges waiting for people is so good that we know this is going to be a a very special event."

Fundraiser Elizabeth Oakes, who has been on several challenges for the charity including to the Grand Canyon and to Peru and is going on the Cuba trip, added that this year's "offers special challenges to everyone and I'm sure we'll all have a really memorable time."

Each member of the group has to raise a minimum of £3,200 in sponsorship for the charity.
