WANDERERS duo Andy Lonergan and Tim Ream have been given the all-clear to resume training this week and could be back in contention for Saturday’s home clash with Brighton.

The pair were stretchered off in the weekend defeat at Nottingham Forest, Lonergan with concussion and Ream suffering a back problem.

The pair will miss tonight’s trip to Middlesbrough but thankfully for Whites boss Neil Lennon, their injuries are not as serious as first feared.

Lennon revealed: “There was a concern Tim Ream might have fractured his coccyx.

“There is no fracture there but he is very sore around the area.

“We are hoping he will be fit for the weekend and the same with Andy.

“He has a bit of concussion but nothing too serious.

“I think he has a bit of pain around the chest and neck area but we will evaluate him this week and see how he is.

“The injuries are starting to pile up. We have nine out at the minute so it’s a big ask for the squad.

“It just seems like it’s a revolving door. You get one in and one out."

Filip Twardzik was also injured at the City Ground and is also expected to miss out tonight, while Craig Davies is still not ready for a comeback.

With Darren Pratley, Liam Trotter, Mark Davies, Max Clayton, Marc Tierney and Adam Bogdan also on the injury list, Lennon now has further selection concerns.

But there is positive news as far as Bogdan goes with the Hungarian set to return to training this week.

Lennon added: “We are hoping he will be on the training ground today.

“We will have to see how he is and how his movement is and how much he can do on the ankle between now and when he gets back.

“We could really do with him at the minute.

“It’s not ideal having your two first-choice goalkeepers out.”
