BOLTON is the luckiest place in the north west to play bingo, according to new figures.
20 people in the town won on the National Bingo Game - more than Blackpool, last year's winners, and Manchester.
Dundee and Stockton-on-Tees recorded one more win than Bolton and topped this year's table.
A whopping £229,000 was scooped in bingo wins in Bolton over the last 12 months.
National Bingo Game Association chief executive Miles Baron said: “We are delighted to announce this year’s lucky towns results, which showcase where £13,264,412 in prize money has been won in the last 12 months.
"There are some real surprises with last year’s winners moving up and down the rankings.
“For many winners their prizes have been life-changing.
"Stories from our winners have ranged from buying houses and going on their first family holiday, to starting a new career and retiring.
"Many donated a proportion of their winnings to worthy causes too.”
The National Bingo Game offers a headline prize that is won on every game played, in addition to a jackpot prize, won every two to three weeks, which can be as much as £250,000.
