COMEDIAN Peter Kay was spotted filming for a new television series in Horwich.
The Farnworth-born funnyman was seen with film crews in Walker Fold Road on Tuesday shooting scenes for comedy biopic Cradle to Grave.
The eight-part BBC Two series is an adaptation of DJ Danny Baker’s autobiography, Going To Sea In A Sieve.
The 41-year-old plays Danny’s father, Fred ‘Spud’ Baker, a proud south London docker with a penchant for cheeky scheming.
The crew brought props for the filming, including a milestone to transform Horwich into Grantham and an old-style grey van.
Set in 1974, it follows the real-life events of Danny and his family and also features former EastEnders and The Bill actress Lucy Speed.
In December, Peter caused a flurry of excitement when he turned up with a film crew in Winter Hey Lane and in Cafe Brambles, also in Horwich, to record scenes for sitcom Car Share.
The six-part series will be screened on iPlayer and then the BBC in the coming weeks.
