BUDDING musicians graced the stage in Bolton to perform a varied programme of music — from pop hits to American folk.

The fourth instalment of Bolton Music Service's Music Centre Presents took place on Thursday evening at Victoria Hall, Knowsley Street.

The audience was entertained by performances of songs including Robbie Williams' Let Me Entertain You, Coldplay's Viva La Vida and composer Franz von Suppé's Light Cavalry Overture.

The ensembles which took part were Bolton Youth Choir, Lads A Capella, Bolton Intermediate Brass Band, Bolton Intermediate Percussion Ensemble, Bolton Youth Percussion Ensemble, Bolton Intermediate Concert Band, Bolton Youth Harmonies, New Century Strings and a joint school choir performance by St Brigid’s RC, Manchester, St Joseph’s and St Bede RC, Bury, St Marie’s RC, Bury and St James CE, Bolton.

The last concert was due to take place last night featuring Bolton Junior Concert Band, Kearsley Training Brass Band, guest student soloist Alice Bailey, Bolton Youth Symphonic Brass Ensemble and Bolton Youth Orchestra.
