FIREFIGHTERS came to the rescue of a sheep which became stuck down a ravine.
Crews from Ramsbottom and the water incident unit from Eccles were called by the RSPCA to Redisher Close in Ramsbottom just after 6pm yesterday.
Ropes were used to bring the sheep to safety, after which it was left in the care of the animal charity.
A fire spokesman said: “We received a call from the RSPCA which needed some support to to get the sheep out.
“We hand the sheep over to the RSPCA to look after it.”
