PUPILS at schools across Little Lever all went to lessons in their pyjamas in memory of brave youngster Jessica Green.

Mytham Primary School pupil Jessica Green lost her battle with an aggressive cancerous brain tumour last April aged six.

In memory of brave Jessica, pupils went to school in their pyjamas as part of the national Say Goodnight to Brain Tumours campaign.

After Jessica's death her family set up The Jessica Green Fund to raise awareness and funding for The Brain Tumour Charity.

To date they have raised £3,300 towards the £10,000 target, which they are hoping to reach by Easter.

Mum Lisa said: "The first of April will mark Jessica's first 'angelversary' and I wanted to do something special to mark it.

"It would be amazing if we could reach £10,000 over Easter and that's why we are doing these events."

Mytham, Masefield, Bowness, St Matthews, and St Teresa's primary schools in Little Lever all dressed down in to their pyjamas for the day to raise money while Ladywood Primary will also be making a donation to the Jessica Green Fund.

Jessica's former nursery Jelly Babies also joined the cause as well as the Kids Wreck nursery.

Each child went home from school with a symptom card for brain tumours to show their parents what to look out for.

Mytham Primary School headteacher Angela Eastwood said: "We are really happy to support this cause which is very close to every ones hearts at Mytham.

"Jessica was a very special girl and she is sadly missed by friends and staff.

"Her last day in school was actually a pyjama day so we feel that it is really nice to do a pyjama day as it comes up to the first anniversary since she passed away because there is that link there.

"The family have been so incredibly brave in such a difficult time and the whole community are behind their efforts."
