Dr No (1962) - Joseph Wiseman played the eponymous mad scientist in the first Bond movie. His fate? He falls into a nuclear reactor pool.

From Russia With Love (1963) - Loaded with villains this one but best two are a peroxide Robert Shaw and a diminutive Lotte Lenya (masquerading as a chambermaid with that lethal knife in her shoe).

Goldfinger (1964) - Gert Frobe as the obese rogue with his digit on the carets and Harold Sakata as his Odd Job henchman.

Thunderball (1965) - Bond goes swimming with the fishies to fight Adolfo Celi.

You Only Live Twice (1967) - Donald Pleasance is the man with the wee white cat as Bond gets big in Japan.

Diamonds Are Forever (1971) - Two Amazons called Bambi and Thumper almost get the measure of Mr Bond mark III (mark IV if you count David Niven in Casino Royale) but the real villain is Jimmy Dean as a Howard Hughes-type recluse holed up in a Las Vegas penthouse.

The Man With The Golden Gun (1974) - Bond heads east (again) to tackle Christopher Lee as arch assassin Scaramanga.

Moonraker (1979) - Michael Lonsdale leads our hero up the Amazon as Bond goes ever so slightly sci-fi.

A View To a Kill (1985) - One-time hero Christopher Walken slips comfortably

into villain mode as ruthless

international industrialist.

GoldenEye (1995) - Likewise, heart-throb Sean Bean turns nasty as renegade MI5 agent - with two Scots (Robbie Coltrane and Alan Cumming) providing villainous laughs and Famke Janssen getting to grips with her role as Onatopp, who proves to be the ultimate thigh master.
