GEORGIOS SAMARAS hopes it will be raining goals at Parkhead tonight - and that Aalborg are the ones on the end of a soaking.

Many of Celtic's best Champions League results have been achieved in wet conditions and the forecast is for more of the same.

Sami is more interested in predicting three points for Gordon Strachan's side and grabbing his first ever goal in the competition.

The Greek hitman reckons the Danes could hold the key to qualification from the group, and that Celtic can't afford any slip-ups.

He explained: "Some people say Aalborg in the easiest game in the group and the team that loses points against them will find it difficult to go to the next round.

"But they will be more dangerous because they have nothing to lose. They are not nervous and will just go out to play football freely.

"I really don't care how Aalborg are going to play, who is going to play or what formation they're going to use.

"I'm only looking at my team and how we are going to play."

Sami does not expect the Aalborg players to simply sit back and let Celtic have the ball.

They may be the group minnows, but they could still bite and Samaras warned: "People maybe think that because we're playing against a Danish team it's an easy game. But it is not and we'll have to work really hard to win.

"We must be really careful. It's the first game and of course you are always more nervous than in other games."

Samaras is reassured by the fact they will be urged on the vociferous Celtic support and reckons they could have a major role to play in this evening's events.

He said: "The supporters push us to improve our performance and to win the games.

"Everyone knows the atmosphere at Celtic Park is unbelievable and it is one of the main reasons we are successful.

"Our aim is to take nine points from our games at Celtic Park, then we'll try to steal something away from home. We must do that to go to the last 16. That's our realistic target."
