ACTRESS Caroline Quentin got a helping hand in a Glasgow school from some elves for a new television show.

The star is in the city to film scenes for a new BBC sitcom, Life Of Riley and was joined by pupils from St Gregory's Primary in Maryhill, who have all landed parts as extras.

The six-part show, which will be screened next year, is about newly-wed Rosie (Caroline) and her husband Jim. For both it is their second marriage and Rosie suddenly finds herself at the head of a family, made up of their own children, step children, step siblings and half siblings.
