TYLDESLEY required just one point from their three remaining games to seal promotion but ended up doing it in style after a resounding 60-0 victory over Port Sunlight in their final home match of the season.

The home side set the tone early on as Carl Redford opened the scoring with a try in only second minute.

They went on to make the best of some tough conditions to break the lines of what is normally a resilient Port Sunlight side at regular intervals to charge their way out of South Lancs/Cheshire Division Two.

Craig Pulman followed quickly with a second try, driving over from five metres out after some solid scrumaging from Bongs.

Tyldesley continued to press deep in opposition territory via some excellent forward play resulting in Mark Dickinson adding a third try, after collecting a loose kick, then cut through for a great score.

Promotion was confirmed by the 16th minute, after Tom Lloyd rounded the defence before touching down for the fourth and bonus-point try.

Tyldesley added another two tries before the break via Dickinson and Gavin Hunter.

Danny Kilshaw converted four to make it 38-0 at half time.

The elements relegated the second half to a slug fest as handling became difficult.

But the home side showed good vision and team awareness to add another two tries from Hunter and man-of-the-match Kilshaw. Martin Wallbank converted one.

Tyldesley went on to record another two scores in the 61st and 70th minutes, Matthew Crampton finishing off after a strong driving maul before Pulman was another recipient of solid forward play.
