RESIDENTS in Bolton have been out and about making the most of the glorious sunny weather.

Youngsters were out in force at Moses Gate Country Park, as they spent their Easter half term break basking in sunshine.

Two-year-old Violet Proud from Darcy Lever donned stylish sunglasses to keep the beaming sun from her eyes, while five-year-old Alexis Vanak took the opportunity to feed the swans.

Sisters Imogen and Melody Heap, aged eight and five, joined their nine-year-old cousin Katrina Bentley in having fun in the sun at Smithills Hill Gardens.

Temperatures in Bolton yesterday reached 15°C — the same as in Barcelona and just 1°C less than in Benidorm.

This is not expected to be a one off, as the Met Office predicts that the warm weather is expected to continue for the next few days.

The forecast predicts that temperatures will reach a high of 16°C today, with a low of 7°C, with sunny spells continuing throughout the day.

In addition, the warm weather is expected to continue tomorrow, with temperatures set to reach 17°C, with a low of 7°C.

However rain is expected to hit Bolton in time for the weekend, with showers expected on Saturday.

Temperatures are expected to fall slightly, to about 10°C.

More heavy showers are forecast for Sunday, with the wind also being expected to pick up.

The temperatures during this current spell of warm weather are above average for this time of year, with temperatures usually reaching a maximum of about 11°C in April.
