POLICE smashed two alleged sex trafficking gangs in just four days.

In the second of two raids in Bolton, police arrested a man and two women who now stand accused of trafficking a 19-year-old girl into the UK from Hungary with a view to forcing her to work as a prostitute.

The swoops on homes in Halliwell and Great Lever, on March 31, came just four days after police arrested three men and a woman on suspicion of trafficking two women from Hungary to work in the sex industry.

Following the most recent raid, Maria Kiraly-Davidne, aged 37, and David Kiraly, aged 30, both of Glenthorne Street, Halliwell, have been charged with human trafficking for sexual exploitation.

A second woman, Monika Pesti, aged 36, of Charlesworth Avenue, Great Lever, is charged with the same offence.

The two women denied the charge at Bolton Magistrates Court on April 2, while Kiraly did not enter a plea.

The trio have been remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Bolton Crown Court on Friday.

A resident of Glenthorne Street, who asked not to be named, said: "I came back and saw the vans and cars from the police but did not know what they were here for.

"It is a shock to hear about such an allegation so close to where I live."

Four days earlier, police swooped on a house in Spa Road, where they claim to have rescued two women, aged 20 and 30, on March 27, along with one of the women's one-year-old baby.

Greater Manchester Police's serious and organised crime unit said the women, who are all Hungarian, have now been reunited with their families in Hungary.

Police also said the women had been beaten and abused over a period of several months.

Ferenc Dardai, aged 21, Ferenc Dardai, aged 41, Daniel Dardai, aged 19, and Kiraly Malania, aged 42, all of Spa Road, have been charged with human trafficking for sexual exploitation in connection with the investigation.

The younger Ferenc Dardai has also been charged with rape.

All four appeared at Bolton Magistrates Court on Monday, March 30.

All the trafficking charges were denied, while no plea was entered by the younger Ferenc Dardai to the rape allegation.

They were all remanded in custody and will appear at Bolton Crown Court on April 17.
