HOLLYWOOD A-lister Sylvester Stallone says he hopes to return to Bolton — to film a sequel of his Warburtons TV advert.

In a behind the scenes video to accompany the advert, which received its premiere before Britain's Got Talent last weekend, Stallone says he wants to come back again next year.

He said: "I was flattered to be chosen by Warburtons to take a little bit of Hollywood flair and mix it with the reality of this family owned company.

"I thought I would be more comfortable in this military outfit but something happened where I just got in touch with my baker side. I realised that perhaps I should have stopped shooting people a long time ago in adventure movies, and gone into pastry."

Speaking after filming, Stallone added: "Wonderful things have to come to an end, and I guess this not an exception, but hopefully I will be back next year to bake some more bread."

The advert features the Rocky star pitching his idea for a Hollywood film entitled The Deliverers to Jonathan Warburton.

The video then cuts to Stallone in bed, who is wearing an "I Love Bolton" T-shirt, being woke up by an alarm clock at 3.30am.

He is seen pounding the streets of Blackrod, wearing a tracksuit reminiscent of one he wore in Rocky, before arriving at a Warburtons bakery.

Then Stallone takes on the lead role in The Deliverers — an homage to action film The Expendables.

He hits the road in a Warburtons delivery truck — but not before getting into the wrong side of his delivery truck — past a Hollywood-style Bolton sign.

But his delivery van hits traffic, so in true action hero style, Stallone gets out of the van and carries on regardless, leaping over the roofs of cars to make his delivery.

The sequence later cuts to Victoria Square, where he re-enacts a famous scene from the first Rocky film, running up the steps of Bolton Town Hall.

Director Declan Lowney, who also directed the recent Alan Partridge film, said the idea was to play on the action genre Stallone is so well known for.

He said: "The commercial is a homage to a lot of Sly's movies. In this commercial, he is so enchanted by the idea of Warburtons, and how amazing the delivery service is, that he pitches the notion of making a movie about the Warburtons delivery service, called The Deliverers.

"He phones up Jonathon Warburton and says 'Johnny, you have given me a great idea for a movie, now picture this'.

"And he then describes the movie to Jonathan."
