TOMORROW'S stylists proved they were a cut above when they showcased their creative flair in a spectacular catwalk show.

Bolton College's hairdressing and barbering students staged their annual show.

The hotly anticipated show forms part of the students' final grades and provides them with a chance to start building a portfolio as professional stylists.

Student Kelly Roberts, aged 36, is studying hairdressing level three.

She said: “I really enjoyed taking part in the showcase — I love making things.

"I was nervous about my design coming to life, but it went really well.”

Beth Dixon, aged 17, who is also studying hairdressing level three, said: "It was such an achievement to see the final product showcased on the catwalk.”

Sarah Bleackley, curriculum leader for hairdressing at Bolton College, said: “This was a spectacular event and the perfect opportunity for our students to show off their developing expertise.

"There was a fantastic buzz throughout college as they displayed their skills, and the catwalk finale in the atrium made it really professional."
