A WALKER from Bolton has died after plunging 60ft from a crag on a coast-to-coast trek.
The woman, who was aged 60 and from Blackrod, was near Anglers’ Crag overlooking Ennerdale Water in the Lake District when she fell on Saturday.
She was treated at the scene by Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team.
She was then taken to hospital by an RAF search and rescue helicopter but did not survive her injuries.
The mountain rescue team was called at 11.55am on Saturday.
