POLICE were forced to take this furry little creature into custody - after rescuing him from one of the biggest cannabis farms Bolton has ever seen.
Doting officers are now looking after the hamster, found in Lever Street, Great Lever, yesterday.
The rodent had survived living alongside the hundreds of plants discovered by police.
He had been kept in a proper cage, with food and a wheel, by those who ran the farm.
Police want to find a suitable home for the pet, but first are asking for suggestions for a name.
A spokesman for the police team said: "No, we didnt put the hamster behind bars!
"He's safe and well, fed and watered in our office.
"We are currently looking after the hamster but wondered if you would like to help us name him - until we find him a suitable home."
