1. Grab your wellies and mates and head to Queens Park to enjoy some of the country’s best rock, indie and metal tribute bands at Boltfest this weekend.

2. Hop onboard and take a trip down memory lane.

Two special vintage double-decker Bolton buses will be pulling into Moor Lane Bus Station on Saturday morning for people to jump on and listen to personal memories and local tales, old and new, from celebrities including Bolton comedian Dave Spikey.

3. Bolton Steam Museum will throw open its doors on Sunday and Monday, between 10am and 4pm.

Volunteers will showcase its collection of 27 old stationary steam engines ‑ some of which once powered the cotton mills of Lancashire.

4. Enter your pooch into a fun dog show at Turton Tower.

 It will take place at Holden’s Field, next to the tower, on Bank Holiday Monday from 11am until 5pm with stalls, archery, dog fancy dress and refreshments.

5. Enjoy a teddy bears' picnic at the Last Drop Village Hotel and Spa, Bromley Cross, from noon on Monday.

There will also be children's face painting, a bouncy castle and an appearance from Peppa Pig.
