A 15-YEAR-OLD girl has become the latest victim of a man reported to have indecently exposed himself in Deane.

Police are linking the latest exposure on Sunday afternoon to six others committed in the space of 11 days earlier this month.

Footage of a man police wish to speak to in relation to the spate in Deane has been released.

The teenager was waling in Deane Church Lane, close to its junction with Chulsey Street, when she was flashed at about 12.30pm on Sunday, June 28.

She was approached by a man, who tried to engage her in conversation before exposing himself to her as they walked along.

The man then ran in the direction of Wigan Road, but is believed to have then run along Back Deane Church Lane shortly after the offence took place.

Police have upped patrols in the area, having arrested one man in connection with the enquiry earlier this month, before subsequently ruling him out.

Detectives are linking this crime to six other similar incidents in the same area, with the same man - pictured in the CCTV footage - believed to be responsible for all of them.

These other incidents occurred between June 6 and 17.

The suspect is described as white, about 6ft tall, in his late 30s, with dark brown hair and a slim build.

During the last incident, on June 28, he was wearing a brown or khaki waist-length jacket and dark blue jeans.

Det Insp Charlotte Cadden said: “The young girl was left understandably upset and shaken by this incident, which was terrifying to her at the time.

“I would like to reassure the local community that we have extra neighbourhood officers patrolling the area in a bid to prevent further incidents.

“There is also a dedicated team of officers investigating this series of crimes and following all possible lines of enquiry to identify this man.

“One man from Bolton was arrested in connection with the offences on the 6th June, but he has since been eliminated from the enquiry.

“I would also like to remind women walking in this area to remain alert to their surroundings and report any man matching the above description, or anyone acting suspiciously, to police.”
