HOLIDAY-MAKERS, you might want to read this.

Top of our travel news bulletin this morning is that there are possible disruptions to flights to and from Manchester International Airport today and tomorrow.

French air traffic controllers were due to strike today and tomorrow but the industrial action has been cancelled.

However, passengers are still being advised to check the status of their flight with their airline.

For those of us who don’t have a holiday to look forward to, the A666 is running smoothly but there are problems on the motorways.

There is currently congestion on the M61 southbound between junction three for the Kearsley spur and junction one for the M60 at the Swinton interchange.

On the M60 anticlockwise, one lane is closed on the exit slip road to the East Lancs Road near the end of the link road from the M60 bridge.

This is for roadworks at junction 15 as the park and ride is built, and will continue until August 24.

One lane of the East Lancs Road westbound is closed between Moorside Road and Old Clough Lane for the bus scheme works.

Roadworks and temporary traffic lights on Manchester Road in Over Hulton, near Four Lane Ends, are expected to be taken down today with the work completed.

And if you are getting the Manchester Metrolink into the city centre, there is no service between Deansgate Castlefield and Piccadilly Gardens and between Deansgate Castlefield and Market Street.

This is due to engineering works taking place until August 30.
