TRIBUTES have been paid to a 24-year-old woman who died after a fall while walking in the Lake District.
Victoria Harris was walking on a fell called Haystacks, in the Buttermere Valley, on Wednesday when the accident happened.
She was with her mum, Carol Allenby-Carr, who works for Travel Counsellors, Churchgate, and lives in Atherton.
She wrote on Facebook: “I am so sad to say my beautiful daughter and soul mate Victoria died yesterday in a tragic accident whilst we were out waking.
“She was a wonderful daughter, and I don't know how we are going to get over it. Sleep tight with the angels my little beauty.”
A spokesman for Cumbria Police confirmed they were called just after 4pm on Wednesday to reports of a 24-year-old woman who had fallen while out walking in the Lake District.
The air ambulance and an RAF helicopter also attended the scene.
