A BOLTON beauty queen has got through to the finals of a national competition.
Laura Collins competed against 60 women from across the country in the Miss England semi finals to make the final 10, who will all battle it out to be crowned with the title next month.
Miss Collins is not just a pretty face — she is studying for a masters degree in law and currently works as a tax associate.
The 22-year-old, who lives in Astley Bridge, was runner up for Miss Bolton and Bury in 2013, before winning the competition earlier this year which secured a place in the Miss England semi finals, which were held on Sunday.
She said: "I'm delighted I've made the finals although I don't think it's sunk in yet.
"Winning Miss Bolton and Bury gave me a lot of opportunities I otherwise wouldn't have had. It's nothing like I thought it would be and I've loved getting involved with the community.
"The finals will be much more intense as there are a lot of rounds to prepare for, like an intelligence round and talent contest, but I'm really looking forward to it."
The finals will take place at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on August 13 to 14.
