A GROUP of travellers which pitched up on a patch of land near Topp Way have been ordered to move on by Bolton Council.
The disused car park opposite Bristol Street Motors was taken over by about 10 caravans and other vehicles on Wednesday.
It is the second time in three months that the privately-owned land has been used by travellers, with four vans and four caravans pitching up in April.
The council does not order travellers on private land to move on unless the owner requests it, which they now have.
A council spokesman said: “We have served the travellers with a notice to leave giving them 24 hours to move. If they don't move we will apply to the magistrates court for an order to remove them from the land.”
