A SOFTWARE firm which helps charities collect gift aid has won an award after being nominated by The Children’s Society.

Bolton based electronic point of sale specialist Nisyst took home the ‘Supplier of the Year’ prize at the Charity Retail Awards.

The company, based in High Street, Little Lever, has been supplying its innovative CHARiot system to The Children’s Society for five years, and worked closely with the charity to develop it.

The advance payment software aims to ensure that gift aid is not overlooked during any transactions, to make sure charities benefit from extra funds available.

The awards, run by the Charity Retail Association, are the only in the industry that specifically highlight the work of those involved in the charity retail sector.

Nisyst fought off strong competition from a wide variety of suppliers to the charity retail sector, winning the award thanks to the company’s ability to respond quickly to its clients and adapt its CHARiot software to meet their needs.

Paul Tate, new business manager at The Children’s Society said: “We nominated Nisyst for a Charity Retail Award because the company constantly invests in innovation to help charities improve their retail operations and maximise revenue.

“We’re delighted to congratulate them on a very well-deserved win.”

Martin Blackwell, chief executive of the Charity Retail Association, added: “Many of our charity members voted for Nisyst because of their great work.

"The Charity Retail Association is very grateful for the support that Nisyst has given to the sector over the years.”

It is not the first appearance at an awards ceremony for Nisyst, which was also recently shortlisted in the ‘Payment Project of the Year’ category of the BT Retail Week Tech & Ecomm Awards 2015.
