I have to agree with the reader about the former MP Brian Iddon's comments, it would appear to be “sour grapes”
He is blaming everyone but the Labour Party for the votes which Labour are losing across Bolton and across the Country.
The truth is that the public have had enough and are after a change, they want to be listened to, they want to know that they will be represented well. The public are fed up of being taken for granted.
That is the real reason Dr Iddon that Labour lost Little Lever and Darcy Lever.
Boundary changes take place every few years and political parties have to adapt to them. Mr Iddon himself benefited from such changes when he was an MP.
Little Lever used to be just Little Lever which later under a boundary change became Little Lever and Darcy Lever.
It used to be represented by three Conservative councillors, Dorothy Dzuibas Millie Lawton and Kevan Hornby. It then changed some years later to three Labour councillors Anthony Connell, Maureen Connell and Bob Evans.
The ward is currently on the change again with two UKIP councillors and hopefully a third one next year.
The truth is Labour are losing votes and the blame for that lies on their own doorsteps not anyone elses.
Councillor Sean Hornby
UKIP Group Leader
