Commuters wait for a train at platform three of Bolton train station.
THERE are delays of up to 40 minutes for Bolton commuters after a person died when they were hit by a train.
Trains between Preston and Bolton are expected to be delayed until at least 5.15pm after a fatality in Leyland at about 1pm this afternoon.
The train lines at Leyland were blocked while emergency services and British Transport Police worked to recover the body, but were reopened about 30 minutes ago.
Buses are running to supplement any cancelled services at Preston, Buckshaw Parkway, Wigan North Western, Manchester Oxford Road and Manchester Piccadilly.
