Drink driver

A drink driver has been jailed after being found to be behind the wheel while four times over the legal limit in Tonge Moor.

Christopher Warren, aged 31, of Chorley Old Road, was sent to prison for 16 weeks after being caught on May 14 in Horsa Street.

He was also banned from driving for five years and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £80 and a criminal courts charge of £150 at Bolton Magistrates' Court.

Driver fined

A MAN has been fined after admitting driving without due care and attention in Market Street, Farnworth.

Gareth Bessell, aged 36, of Manchester Road, Bury, was fined £200 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £80 at Bolton Magistrates' Court.

He was also given three points on his licence.

Bike thief

A THIEF who stole a bike has been given a community order. 

Amir Atcha, aged 35, of Rosthere Gardens, must complete a rehabilitation activity requirement after pleading guilty to theft and assaulting a man.

At Bolton Magistrates' Court, he was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60, costs of £85, compensation of £75 and a criminal courts charge of £180.

Unpaid work for thief

A THIEF who stole a bicycle has been ordered to carry out unpaid work.

Shane Gibbons, aged 28, of Nevis Grove, Astley Bridge, was sentenced to a community order at Bolton Magistrates' Court, and was ordered to carry out 50 hours of unpaid work after admitting the theft.

He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60, costs of £85 and a criminal courts charge of £180.

Property destroyed 

A TONGE Fold man has been given a conditional discharge after destroying property worth £200.

Andrew Wilson, aged 31, of Colenso Road, was discharged conditionally for 12 months and ordered to pay compensation of £200, a victim surcharge of £15, costs of £35 and a criminal courts charge of £150 at Bolton Magistrates' Court.

Curfew order 

A GREAT Lever man must adhere to a curfew after admitting breaching a community order.

Alex Crossman, aged 35, of Atkinson Avenue, must observe an electronically monitored curfew from 8pm to 7am for four weeks, following a hearing at Bolton Magistrates' Court.

He was also ordered to pay a criminal courts charge of £100.
