A CARTOON illustrator from Bolton will appear on a television programme which sees children organise a wedding for their parents.

Cartoon fanatic Emma Knowles can be seen on CBBC’s Marrying Mum and Dad at 4.50pm today.

The episode sees 11-year-old Ebony plan a mind-boggling Alice in Wonderland-themed wedding for her parents, who are blissfully unaware of the theme until their big day.

Emma, of Andertoonz Cartoon Illustration, is brought in to help Ebony design the ‘interesting’ outfits for the guests to wear on the big day.

She said: "I have worked on a broad range of projects in my time as a freelancer, from children’s murals to commercial packaging and mobile apps, but nothing like this.

"Being on camera was quite nerve-wracking at first but I absolutely love children and being silly so it soon came quite naturally to me so I’d definitely do it again."

She founded her independent design studio, Andertoonz Cartoon Illustration, 10 years ago after graduating from the University of Bolton, and has recently seen success after committing to the business full-time in 2013.

Emma is soon to expand by moving to bigger premises with her impressive client base which includes international airlines, celebrity chef Aldo Zilli, BBC Worldwide and BBC Sport.

She specialises in commercial character design, cartoon branding and company mascot design.
