THIS is your chance to vote for Bolton Council's unsung heroes.

You can nominate any member of staff, team, or project you feel has gone the extra mile to give you excellent service.

The Bolton’s Best awards celebrate and reward staff for the work they do to improve the quality of life for everyone in the Bolton family.

The Best Customer Care 2015 category, supported by the Bolton News, recognises those who make a difference to the people of Bolton.

Let the council know who has helped you — it can be something big or small, someone who helps you every day or an act of kindness.

The Home Support Re-ablement team won last year’s award for their dedication, for consistently delivering high standards, and their ability to go over and above their duties every day, 365 days a year. They work with users and carers to enable them to live more independently in their own homes.

It works with adults who are recovering from illness, disability or loss of confidence.

The service is available to adults aged 18 and over, living within their own homes within the Bolton borough.

The team helps with personal hygiene such as bathing; getting in and out of bed; regaining confidence in daily living tasks; medication support; making a drink, or preparing a meal or snack.

The service also identifies if the person needs longer term care and support and, if so, refer them to other agencies as appropriate.

Members of the team said they were proud and overwhelmed to be recognised by the service users whom they support, especially as it was an award for which the public votes.

To nominate someone, a team or project email your nomination to boltonsbest@bolton.gov.uk and tell us in about 100 words why they deserve to be nominated.

Nominations close on Friday 28 August. In November you will be able to vote for the winner.

The Bolton’s Best awards are sponsored by the Bolton Whites Hotel and IT company Agilisys. With the support of Bolton Whites Hotel the council is able to hold an event of which we can be proud to celebrate the achievement of our award winners and all our staff.

The council's IT supplier, Agilisys has once again agreed to be a sponsor, covering the costs of running the awards.
