MUSIC concerts at the Macron Stadium could become a regular fixture after a new firm was set up to attract big-name acts to the town.

Newly formed TLC Concerts says it is in discussions with an "international artist" for its first concert, which is being organised in conjunction with the Bolton Whites Hotel.

The concerts will initially be held in the Premier Suite at the stadium, but organisers hope that eventually some events will be held on the pitch, like big gigs in the past including Coldplay and Oasis.

The company is a new sister business launched by Manchester based event management company the Taylor Lynn Corporation, to celebrate its 20th year of trading.

Organisers are remaining tight lipped about the identity of the performers, but have promised that details of the first event will be announced in the next two weeks.

Bosses said the concerts will feature a range of well-known musicians and bands from different genres.

A number of separate concerts at the hotel have been held in previous months, including Radio 1 DJs Annie Mac and Danny Howard and garage duo Gorgon City.

A concert in the 3,000 capacity Premier Suite by Grammy Award-winning electronic group Clean Bandit pencilled in for August was cancelled at the last minute by promoters.

Liz Taylor, managing director of TLC Concerts, said: "Bolton is home to some incredible acting, comedic and musical talent, so the concerts will need to offer the very best artists around to keep up the town’s tradition for quality entertainment.

"We are in discussions with a truly amazing international artist to kick start the concerts, so watch this space."

She added: "I have been developing a range of new initiatives with the team at Bolton Whites Hotel and the staging of amazing concerts at the stadium, which the hotel is integrated into, seemed a natural and exciting progression.

"TLC has the business structure and contacts to make this happen, I have 30 years of experience under my belt and the team at the hotel is raring to go."

The near 29,000 capacity stadium has held a number of huge concerts in the past.

In 2005, Coldplay played two sell out shows at the stadium and filmed the video for hit single Fix You, while Elton John also played at the stadium that summer.

Back in 2000, Oasis played a huge concert with the Happy Mondays supporting, and more recently in 2010 US pop star Pink appeared.

Carl D'Arcy, national business development manager at Bolton Whites Hotel added: "The hotel and stadium have a strong history of hosting concerts of top pedigree having seen the likes of Coldplay, Oasis and Elton John take to the stage here.

"The move back into the music scene is an exciting time for us and we feel confident that running these in conjunction with Liz, and her unrivalled little black book of contacts, will certainly see Bolton compete with the city centre based concerts from across the UK."
