Assault man jailed

MAGISTRATES have jailed a man for 28 days after he admitted assaulting a woman.

Luke Hamblett, aged 26, of Tamar Close, Kearsley, committed the offence on September 22 and was also ordered to pay a £150 criminal courts charge.

Banned driver ordered to do unpaid work

A BANNED driver has been sentenced to do 150 hours unpaid work after admitting getting behind the wheel of a Mercedes C270.

Bolton magistrates heard how Colin Naylor, aged 45, of Raikes Way, Bolton, was caught driving on Shepherd Cross Street, Bolton, on July 23.

He also pleaded guilty to having no insurance and possessing amphetamine.

The court also ordered him to have treatment for drug addiction for six months and take part in a rehabilitation activity for 15 days.

He was told he must also pay £325 in costs and charges.

Shoplifter stole goods worth £400

A SHOPLIFTER who twice stole electrical items from B&Q in Bolton has been sentenced to a conditional discharge for 18 months by magistrates.

Darren Hammersley, aged 47, of Hatfield Road, Bolton, admitted stealing items worth a total of almost £400 on August 27 and September 7 and also pleaded guilty to failing to surrender to court.

As well as the conditional discharge, Hammersley was ordered to pay £157.80 compensation and £250 in costs and charges.

Teenager convicted of carrying bolt cutters

A TEENAGER convicted of having bolt cutters to be used for theft has been sentenced to a youth rehabilitation order by magistrates.

Levi Finneran, aged 18, of Rose Avenue, Farnworth, had denied committing the offence on March 20 but was found guilty after a trial.

He was sentenced to spend 30 hours at an attendance centre and ordered to pay £200 prosecution costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

Cash theft woman fined

MAGISTRATES have fined a woman after finding her guilty of stealing £1,250 cash.

Angela Williams, aged 48, of St Johns Road, Worsley, had denied stealing the money belonging to Andrew Pottinger on January 19.

But she was convicted after a trial at Bolton Magistrates’ Court.

She was fined £200 and ordered to pay £1,250 compensation, plus £620 in costs and charges.

Teen driver fined

A TEENAGE driver has been fined and banned from holding a licence for two months after admitting motoring offences.

At Bolton Magistrates' Court Daniel Morris, aged 19, of Shackleton Grove, Bolton, pleaded guilty to driving a Citroen Saxo on Moss Bank Way on April 26 without due care and attention, and without a licence or insurance.

He was fined £240 and ordered to pay £255 in costs and charges.

Jail for banned driver

A BANNED driver who was caught behind the wheel of a car in Farnworth has been jailed for four months.

Niven Frodsham, aged 41, of Moorview Court, Blackpool, was stopped driving a Renault Clio on Plodder Lane on September 14.

At Bolton Magistrates' Court he admitted committing the offence as well as driving without insurance, possessing crack cocaine and obstructing police.

Magistrates also banned him from holding a driving licence for three years and ordered him to pay £260 in charges.
