A BOLTON Wanderers fan caught on video being ejected by a steward says he was treated like a "terrorist".

Daley Carlin had travelled from Glasgow with eight of his friends to watch the game.

Mr Carlin, aged 20, admitted the group had been drinking during the three hour journey to the Macron Stadium, but said the ejection was not necessary.

He said that the group had been singing songs and trying to get the atmosphere going, and admitted aiming chants at Brighton midfielder and former Celtic player Beram Kayal, because some of the group were Rangers supporters.

Mr Carlin, who has family in Farnworth and has supported the club for five years, said he and four other friends were ejected during the first half after Brighton opened the scoring, therefore missing the rest of the match and the next three goals.

He claims that he was manhandled by the stewards while he was bring thrown out.

Video filmed by one of his friends emerged online after the match, in which the steward swears at Mr Carlin and threatens to drag him off Bolton Wanderers' property.

Further footage shows the ejection unfold, in which the group protest their innocence and stewards allegedly forcibly remove them.

Mr Carlin said this was his first match of the season, having attended a few matches last season, and that he had never been ejected from the stadium before.

He said: "It just ruined our day completely. We had travelled down all the way from Glasgow for the match and we missed three of the goals.

"We had a few drinks on the way down from Glasgow, but we weren't being abusive towards anyone. We were singing some songs about Beram Kayal but it is just normal stuff you hear at the football.

"It was like we were bring treated like terrorists or something, but we hadn't done anything wrong.
We probably were swearing but that is not out of the ordinary at a football match."

Mr Carlin said he is considering making a complaint to the club.

A Bolton Wanderers spokesman said an investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

The sound at the end of the video has been muted due to bad language
