TEENAGE striker Alex Samizadeh was again the matchwinner for Wanderers Under-18s as they beat Millwall 1-0 in their latest outing.

After a two-week break from the U18 Professional Development League 2 campaign, David Lee's charges made it four wins in a row thanks to the 16-year-old's ninth goals in just six outings for the academy side.

It was a closely-fought game at the Eddie Davies Academy with little between the sides.

Both cancelled each other out in what was a first half of few chances.

But the young Whites, who were facing London opposition for the fourth successive league game, came out the brighter after the break.

Samizadeh was unlucky not to fire them ahead on the hour mark when his shot was deflected on to the bar.

But Lee's side kept pressing and when Jack Earing found Samizadeh with a neat through ball, the Iranian-born frontman rifled home into the top corner from 25 yards.

Wanderers defended their lead well after that and saw the game out to add Millwall to the list of London clubs Brentford, QPR and Charlton who have been dealt capital punishment by Lee's youngsters.

The coach was pleased with another solid display and said: "It was a closely-fought game with little between the two teams in the first half.

"But we were much improved in the second half, after a couple of telling tactical decisions.

"We defended well, and got stronger as the game went on.

"Our shape and discipline was very pleasing with Millwall testing us with some good phases of play.

"We stood up to a different challenge again and were resolute and strong, keeping a clean sheet.

"Four wins back-to-back is pleasing.

"It shows the players are taking things on board and you can see the development, both technically and tactically."
