A BOLTON dad is set to run 5km in a pink dress to raise funds for charity which supports his poorly daughter.

Neil Stewart and his pals will run take part in Derian House's first Dames on the Run event tomorrow.

As well as having fun in frilly frocks, the group, including Mr Stewart, aged 50, Jonah Saunders, aged 15, Ben Farmer, aged 17, and Stephen Kay, aged 35, hope to raise vital funds for the children's hospice, which has been a great help supporting Mr Stewart's daughter Jodie.

The youngster has an undiagnosed condition with symptoms similar to cerebral palsy, as well as severe epilepsy and blindness.

Mr Stewart's partner Kate Settle, aged 41, will be cheering them on in the 5km run, with Jodie, aged five, by her side.

Ms Settle, from Halli' th' Wood, said: "It's been great fun dressing them all up. It's almost become a bit of a competition to see who looks the most feminine.

"Derian house have been fantastic with Jodie. I don't know what we would have done without them. I hope we manage to raise a good amount of money for them."

Dames on the Run takes place at Astley Hall in Chorley on Sunday from 11am.
