A MAN was shot in the back through his front window in Little Hulton last night, just days after another nearby shooting left its victim with serious injuries.

Police were called to Mossbrook Drive at around 12.15am after reports of a shooting, and found that the 48-year-old man had been shot in the back.

He is currently being treated in hospital. No arrests have been made and police inquiries are ongoing.

Yesterday, a 21-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder for a shooting in Coniston Avenue on Monday was given bail until November 19.

A 34-year-old man was shot three times in the attack and remains in a serious condition with wounds to his torso.

A GMP spokesman said: "Shortly before 12.15am on Saturday 10 October 2015 police were called to Mossbrook Drive in Salford to report of a firearms discharge.

"Officers attended and discovered a shot had been fired at the front window of a house. One of the occupants of the house, a 48-year-old-man, was injured and was taken to hospital where he is being treated for a minor gunshot wound to his back.

"Enquiries are on-going and anyone with information should phone police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111."

Beryl Halden, a neighbour in Mossbrook Drive said: "It must be really awful for the people who live there not to feel safe in their own home.

"We heard a bang during the night but we didn't know what it was. We thought a car might have been stolen, or something like that.

"It's terrible to hear of things like this happening, after the shooting the other day as well. I'm glad the man who was shot last night isn't too badly hurt."

Another neighbour, who asked to remain anonymous, added: "We didn't know what was going on. We heard this sudden bang and then obviously the street was full of police soon after. You get sick of hearing of things like this happening, it's awful."
