RESIDENTS in a Little Lever road plagued by parked cars are to get bollards to prevent congestion.

Councillors at the Little Lever and Darcy Lever Area Forum on Monday night confirmed Durham Close would have bollards installed in the coming weeks.

The forum has spent £2,500 on improving conditions in the cul-de-sac for residents how have complained that it becomes dangerously congested during school run times.

Chairing the meeting at Christ Church Hall, in Mytham Road, Cllr Paul Richardson said the bollards would prevent parking on the pavement, particularly on the turn into the road.

The area forum has previously paid for white lines on the road.

Residents have accused parents of blocking the road while dropping off their children at nearby Masefield Community Primary School and Ladywood School, forcing pedestrians into the road and blocking people from getting out of their driveways.
