Bolton’s annual funfair and fireworks event for all the family. The funfair will open at 6pm and the fireworks will start at 8pm.

2.    Bernard Wrigley and the Oldham Tinkers, Octagon Theatre, Friday, 7.30pm

Bernard Wrigley, knows as the Bolton Bullfrog, will play a show at the Octagon Theatre — of where he is patron — with the three-piece folk group the Oldham Tinkers, featuring John Howarth and brothers Larry and Gerry Kearns.

Watch the Championship match against Bristol as the Whites (hopefully) score a home victory.

Science fiction fanatics, movie lovers and telly addicts are gearing up for Bolton's inaugural Movie Con. Game of Thrones star Ser Barristan Selmy, protector of Denaerys Targarian, the Mother of Dragons, otherwise known as Irish actor Ian McElhinney, will be appearing alongside well known TV faces like Primeval star Andrew Lee Potts and sitcom actor John Challis, best known as Only Fools and Horses' Boycie.

5.    Remembrance Sunday, Victoria Square, Sunday 10.30am

Thousands will gather across Bolton on Sunday to remember those who lost their lives during the war. A service, led by the Vicar of Bolton, the Rev Matt Thompson, will start at 10.45am, with groups assembling at 10.30am, leading up to the two minutes silence at 11am.
